The rough draft of the book cover…drum role

People ask me. “What is the title of your book?’ I have for five years answered back “Broken Ring”.

Broken Ring was my silent friend, one whispered to only close friends…but this week I got a complete surprise to find out, it’s not exactly original…

I did a quick survey online to find a lot of broken circles, broken rings, shattered rings and circles…especially circles and rings of fire, duh. Hello Johnny Cash!

Which is sad as I always thought it would be cool to have a picture on the cover of the book with fire poi circles at night. The bright orange fire against the deep black night, enchanting!

Then it dawned on me that if someone does look for my book once published and goggle anything ring, broken, shattered, mended, diamond, you name it. I will basically be a lost puppy!

So after deep thought, good coffee at the local coffee shop the title has been amended and a rough cover drafted. Well a couple of rough covers were drafted and voted on.

So a quick shout out and a thank you to Joy and her kids at the ‘Bean!’  this was celebrated in true style with a good hot chocolate, yum

I have uploaded the picture of my rough draft and new title, and would be really grateful for your comments…good or bad! Fingers crossed that you will like it, but if you don’t please be honest and let me know.

Thank you for all your support with this, it is so deeply appreciated.

Hello wonderful and strange world!

Hi, I’m Claire, let me introduce myself. This is the first time I have ever ‘Blogged’ and so very new to this game. It is a wonderful, new and kinda scary adventure I have found myself to be travelling in…but an adventure none the less and I hope you share this journey with me.

Why have you started this blog? I hear you quietly ask, well, I have just jumped from the good ol’ financial world to one of writing, a dream fantasized about but always put onto a back burner, with the excuse of work, kids, cooking and cleaning, simply any excuse and idea to procrastinate.

This journal will hopefully show tears and joy as I travel the road of novice writer to independently published novel, in both paperback and ebook .

The story started as a healing tool, but as I have ventured further into it I have found so many people have been in similar situations for better and worse…What are the situations?…

Well that’s the wonderful, bitter sweet, ice and fire of life.

I look forward to meeting you and exchanging thoughts and ideas from the what we may consider normal to the absolute crazy!…because at the end of the day…

What is normal?
