A Ride to Liberty? Aha!

Inspiration, motivation, aha moment, lifeDo you ever have a 24 hour period of time when ideas just keep coming? That it becomes exciting and exhausting all at the same time? Here’s one of them…

I read my horoscope yesterday… I don’t hold much weight to them but it drops into my email each morning, a quick cursory glance and it’s deleted with a little laugh and a pfft! For some reason I forgot to delete it yesterday, maybe because the day turned out to be a hectic one.

Yesterdays Horoscope:

Expect at least one ‘aha’ moment today, as your amazing personal energy takes over your brain and forces understanding of some previously difficult topic — or person. It all just starts to click! “

Seriously? An ‘aha’ moment? Yeah, okay! I’m going to be too busy for one of those!

The phone rang, hubby asking me how my writing was going, “Nearly finished” was the reply. Now this book is beyond a book or a novel. You could buy to just have a cheap door stop! He laughed, “I’m telling you! You going to have to break it up!”

I could feel a stubborn look fall on my face “Huh? Nooo!” He keeps ‘strongly suggesting’ that I make it a trilogy… pfft! We ended the call quickly, he had to go to a meeting.

Just in case you’re not quite grasping how I felt, it really was ‘A trilogy? Pfft!’

Later in the day I am on a Skype call with Julie of mybodymyself.wordpress.com , a wonderful lady I have met through blogging. We discussed various subjects and then the conversation turned to ‘the book, the doorstop’. She innocently suggests that maybe it would do well with a sequel, for it to be split or a trilogy… huh?

Okay… see that brick over there that was just slammed into my head? Get rid of it, it hurt!… Oh, that’s the ‘aha’ moment!

A trilogy! Inspiration, motivation, aha moment, life

Not a door stop!

Suddenly it all made sense!

I went over my writing and realized that it could be made into a trilogy… go figure. Sometimes it really is difficult to see the woods for the trees.

I woke this morning, refreshed dug into the writing and split it easily into 3 books (Yeah, I really had written that much!)

Now my day has been spent editing my “first book”. It will be called… ‘Broken Ring’ of the ‘Ride to Liberty’ series :)

I am feeling really excited about it. I know that when I have finished editing it, I will then be sending it off to the editor to dissect, hopefully it will be polished off nicely and the ‘Pfft’s’ will be filed away for another ‘aha’ moment waiting to be discovered.

Have you had an ‘aha’ moment this week?

  1. Cool! Good luck :) I’m occasionally visited by the muse… I go through spells – it can last weeks or months – where I can write write write without much staring at blank paper / computer screen.

Then it completely dries up. Not a drop.

I’m hoping that doesn’t happen with my blog… I don’t think it will, because it’s not fiction and I’m not making this stuff up LOL Besides there’s always “stuff’ going on to write about and I’ve got 9,000 tracks on my iPod I could write about LOL Even at a post a day, that’s about 30 years worth of blogging LOL

  2. Sounds like an excellent plan, Claire – looking forward to reading your 3 books. It’s interesting that we don’t tend to listen to our partners, yet take notice of what others say. It happens all the time in this house – ‘I’ve been telling you that for ages,’ is a familiar refrain! :)

  3. Hey, Claire. WOWEE. I am so PUMPED about what you are doing. Trilogy. A DV trilogy.
Fabulous work you’re doing. Thank you personally for making such a rapid and powerful impact on my life. You are a transformer.

My first ah-ha was talking with you when you told me that my solution was to first focus on getting empowered before proceeding with very frightening things. And something inside me clicked.
Then to support your advice, Ivanildo, a fellow blogger, responded with the following to me in the comment section of his post noted below…
“stepping into our fears is like feeding our bodies — we have 2 do it again and again.”

By combining my 2 ah-ha’s this week and acting on them these past two days, I am experiencing a very distinct way of being and really cool results. You guys totally rock!

  4. OK, read your first chapter. Couldn’t get it to download from WordPress, but through the email link, was successful. I’m hooked. Can’t really find a word to describe it, but it would be a very good word. Brings so many thoughts to mind, but especially the thought that it is amazing that you’re doing this project and it will serve the world where the world direly needs to be served. Also excellent reading. Perhaps the best way to describe my reaction is along the lines of what Goldilocks might say: ‘Not too hard, not too soft, just right.’ Done with truth and taste. Written from the heart. Fabulous. The end of the first chapter left me hungering for more… and the entire chapter had me thinking, “What can be done to prevent and empower?” And you, my darling, are doing it. Is there a way to share at least part of it on other blogs, i.e. mine? :) Congratulations, Claire!
